How the flying works

Certified and authorized.

FAA Part 107

Flown under a remote pilot certificate.

Every commercial flight is operated under an FAA Part 107 remote pilot certificate, and for jobs that require it I arrange liability coverage and can name your company on the certificate of insurance. Part 107 is the certification the FAA requires for drone work that supports a business, which includes a single aerial photo attached to a listing.

Airspace

Controlled airspace.

Much of the Reno and Sparks valley floor sits inside the controlled airspace surrounding Reno-Tahoe International. Legal flight there requires an authorization before takeoff, requested through LAANC or filed directly with the FAA where a higher ceiling is needed.
